As promised I'll be posting some photos as
soon as i've got them off the laptop
(hopefully in the next few days) Ok so after a week boarding every day and afternoon, staying next door to a Serbian couple who argued for 2 hours every night and then had very nosy sex till 4.00am in the morning I'm back in work very knackered! Snow - Quite a nice amount when we got there and most of the slopes were open. Lovely blue skies for 4 days and sunshine. Was getting patchy in places by Thursday but luckily it snowed all day and evening making saturday riding a joy. Reps - Very helpful indeed. Friendly people with good English. Instructors - We had a guy called Jug who was very good and on the first day we were all up the mountain and by the last day on a black run. Also a good laugh and went drinking with us on the last night. Drink - In shops bottles of beer could be as cheap as 40 dinar (35p) and depending on the brand could be up to 200 dinar in some hotels / bars etc. SOS bar and Exit bar were good prices. Night-life - Didn't really get going till quite late. Some dances in some of the bars. Food - We stayed in the Club A and it was half board. A good variety at breakfast and tea. LOTS of meat. For veggie's it was ok but they didn't really understand the concept and non of the food was labelled. For example some veggie stuff was covered by meat which as my veggie wife pointed out was a bit silly. Currency - Take euros as you can use these on some activities and can be used to change to dinars in the airport or in the resort. There are 2 (i think) ATM machines in the resort. Language - Learn some basic words. It's not really needed but really helps we found. Alot of the waiters etc commented how it was pleasing to hear that we were trying there language out etc. Other activities - Ski-doo (snow mobile) 60 euros for an hour up the mountain. Simply brilliant if you have never done it before and we got to see a lovely sunset. Those things don't half shift as well! There was an ice skating rink as well. The reps also organised a quiz night and a bar crawl type thing. |

Best ski on Kopaonik is during February. Every
year at this time, there is a lot of snow and sun!
Most of visiters at this time are young, so there
are a lot of partys and good spirit! Come to Kompaonik in February! |

Take Euros or Sterling only. THEY DONT CHANGE
TRAVELLERS CHEQUES ANYWHERE IN THE RESORT, nearest
town is 2 hours plus away. Ski instrutors, enthusiastic and friendly! But make sure you are in the correct ability group from the start or you'll get cold waiting! |

Hi just returned from Kop, my first full weeks
skiing holliday. Anyone flying out there will have
a great time . We were lucky that there was a
godfall of snow on our second night there which
allowed more slopes to be opened. To help anyone flying out to kop i will give you a few suggestions to help you on your stay, DONT take travelers cheques to kop as they wont change them there, you need either cash or your bank card. The ski school is great and the instructors speek good English, but make sure that on day one that you get put in the right group as if you can ski a little as i could they will start you off as a complete begginer as happened to me, but thanks to the instructors a better group on the second day and then some great skiing. We stayed in the Konaci apartments rooms were good and clean, but the disco at 2.00 in the morning can be a problem after a days skiing, so if you have children as we did try to get a room away from the disco. To sum up we all had a great time and would go back again, food and drink very cheap try the local beer MB |

Have just got back from Kop. Had a fantastic time, plenty of snow now and all bar a couple of black runs open. there are the odd icy patches but generally good and they are anticipating more snow. We were all complete beginers and managed to ski. Stayed in the Konaci appts, clean and basic but all you need. The appts on the side of the cafe royal are very noisy due to the bass on the disco, we were moved to other side and no further noise problems. Food and drink cheap, would recommend the trattoria Kosava which is near to the Hotal Grand (not in main Konaci square), fantastic food, frienldy staff and cheap, meal for 8 with 2l wine and other drinks £70! Slopes were quite busy for a couple of days during past week but very quiet on 6th. Hope this helps and have fun! |

We stayed in Kopaonik at the Konachi Apartments.
We really enjoyed everything about our Holiday the
only thing that was a letdown was we stayed in an
apartment right above disco bar. So the volume of
the music was very loud just as you were going to
sleep. Even though our instructor was very disappointed for us because only 2 runs were open we still managed to ski every day and enjoyed every minute. As a begginer at skiing i found that the ski school were more than happy to help me with any fears and worries. I could even book 1 to 1 ski tuition if i wanted. There are so many runs that on one occastion our instructor took the advanced skiers to a bourder where they could see Sebia, Bosnia Montranegrgo and Coszavo. They said it was the most beautifull sight. Our Instructor was the best ever he knew everything about anything he was patient with me as it was my first time skiing and showed us the most beautiful scenery . When we left I cried I want to return as soon as I can I fell in love with your countries beauty and intend on returning very soon Nikki |

We got back from Kop yesterday, so if anyone has
any questions about the resort then let me know.
We snowboarded every day between 25th - 30th, and
although it wasn't an epic we had alot of fun on
the snow that was there... 5 - 20cm. There were only 2 lifts open, the 2 big 4 seaters but they didn't charge us for a lift pass! The Apreski looked pretty good from what I saw of it, there are plenty of bars to try out. I thought "Hawa Krya" next to the Burton Shop and "Exit" were the best. There was a disco as well in the main complex, but it wasn't open when we were there. Or it might have been open but I was too knackered to be out late. I took my board that had only seen 3 days of use and it is now badly in need of a service. If there is some more snow forecast then you should be ok. It kind of depends on how you ride and where you go. The hire boards looked crappy, but I wasn't paying much attention to be honest. We would have been more than happy to stay another week! |
